Point Randall opened for business on Memorial Weekend 1965 with six units. Opal and Noble Randall were the original owners who operated the resort until 1980 when Douglas & Christii Spriggs purchased the resort. They ran Point Randall until 2003 and sold it to Michael & Paulette Spriggs who have updated and maintained the property for more than 23 years. There are now 29 lodging units and two rental homes available. In 2026, the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau honored them with the Partner in Tourism Award for their leadership in the tourism industry. Missouri House Representative Jeff Vernetti also honored Michael and Paulette with Point Randall Resort a Missouri Resolution (pictured at left). The resort was selected as a finalist for Best Resort in the 2026 Best of the Lake Survey, an online reader's choice poll.
About Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri
The Lake of the Ozarks has earned its reputation as the premier family vacation destination in the Midwest. With more than 1,100 miles of shoreline framed by scenic hills, it offers a lakeside experience unlike any other. Point Randall Resort sits right on the water's edge placing you steps from the Lake.
Lake of the Ozarks began nearly a century ago with the Great Osage River Project. Construction on the historic Bagnell Dam began on August 6, 1929. In the midst of the Great Depression, over 4,600 dedicated workers labored day and night to build what was then the world's largest man-made lake. Fed by the Osage, Glaize, and Niangua Rivers, the lake opened to the public on May 30, 1931. Today, the Lake is managed by Ameren Missouri. When you visit, be sure to stop by the historic Willmore Lodge to immerse yourself in our local heritage and see how this incredible destination came to be.
The Lake of the Ozarks has events, festivals and activities during all four seasons. We invite you to bring friends and family to share some moments on and/or around the area including a sunset over the main channel, picnics at one of our state parks, caving, hiking, horseback riding, golfing or enjoying a local festival.
